Lip injections at New Jersey’s Sood Center involve adding volume to thin or thinning lips to make them appear more youthful or create a better-defined, shapelier appearance. Dr. Mohit Sood and his team have extensive experience with a variety of non-surgical treatments, including lip augmentation. A thorough knowledge of facial anatomy and harmony allows Sood Center’s injectors to create beautifully noticeable results that look natural.
Lip injections have a variety of benefits. These treatments can enhance the shape, structure, and volume of the lips, whether your lips have changed over time due to loss of fat and collagen or you have always had thin lips and wanted more “oomph.”
While lip injections are most often associated with increasing size, they are also ideal for balancing or restoring harmony to asymmetrical lips, as well as creating more definition in key features like the Cupid’s bow.
Lip augmentation pricing will vary depending on several factors, such as the type of lip enhancement treatment chosen, the number of syringes used, and other factors. We will discuss all of this with you at your consultation prior to deciding on any specifics for lip injections.
At your initial consultation, our team will explain more about how the treatment works, answer any questions you might have, and explain what you can expect from your lip injection session. We will also determine the ideal injection sites.
The specifics of your lip enhancement procedure will depend on what type of lip augmentation technique is being used.
For lip fillers, we will begin by applying a topical anesthetic around 15 to 30 minutes before beginning the procedure to numb the lips and ensure that you are as comfortable as possible. Filler will be injected with a fine needle into specific areas of your lips or around the mouth. Once this has been completed, your injector will gently massage the lips to ensure that the filler is absorbed and even, and they may also apply an ice pack.
For a fat transfer, we will remove fat from another area of the body with liposuction, process it, and add it to the lips.
Your recovery timeline will depend on what type of procedure you have. Little to no recovery time is needed for lip fillers, and you can return to your normal activities right away. Keep in mind that it’s common to experience some minor discomfort and swelling, along with some discomfort at the injection sites, but these effects will fade quickly.
It may take several weeks for swelling and bruising from surgical lip augmentation to subside, and you’ll need to avoid strenuous activities in the meantime.
The lifespan of lip augmentation also depends on the type. Lip injections with fillers often last between six months to one year or more, while surgical lip enhancement results can last for several years.
Dr. Sood and our team will assess your medical history while discussing any potential risks associated with lip injections and other augmentation strategies to help you decide whether this would be the right option for you and which technique would be best. You may be an ideal candidate if you are healthy, are a non-smoker, do not have an active infection in the lip area or chronic medical conditions, and have realistic expectations for you lip injection results.
