What Is Restylane Lift®?
Restylane Lift® is a gel-like formula containing hyaluronic acid and is used to plump the skin and add fullness. Perlane® differs from Restylane® in that it contains larger particles, making it a better choice for filling deep wrinkles. Unlike Restylane®, Perlane® is not recommended for injection into the lips.
How Is Restylane Lift® Administered?
Dr. Sood will first prepare the right amount of medication and place it into a syringe containing an ultrafine needle. Several very small injections may then be given into deep tissues of the skin to produce the desired results. The treatment normally takes between 30 and 60 minutes, after which time you are free to leave our clinic and resume normal activities.
Preparing for Restylane Lift®
Prior to receiving a Restylane® injection, you should avoid taking the following:
- Aspirin
- High doses of Vitamin E
- John’s Wort
- Prescription blood thinning medications
- Anti-inflammatory medications, even over-the-counter ones such as ibuprofen
Recovery from Restylane Lift®
There may be itching, redness or swelling present at any of the injection sites, but this normally goes away within a day or two. Taking ibuprofen or applying an anti-itch cream is usually all that’s needed to alleviate these symptoms.
