Decreased collagen production can lead to sagging skin, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. To help patients minimize these signs, Sood Center offers Radiesse® for the people of Cherry Hill and other South Jersey and Greater Philadelphia communities. When provided with patient safety and comfort in mind at the Linwood, NJ and Haddonfield, NJ offices of board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Mohit Sood, Radiesse® helps stimulate collagen production to provide a more youthful appearance.
What Is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is a dermal filler designed to smooth wrinkles by adding volume lost due to the aging process. It also works to increase the body’s own production of collagen, which is something that diminishes as a person ages. As such, benefits are noticeable immediately after the injection, with continued improvement being seen for several months afterward. The effects of Radiesse® normally last around one year, after which time you may receive another injection.
Benefits of Radiesse®
The most attractive benefit to Radiesse® is the fact that multiple areas can be enhanced with this filler. A few of the areas that may respond well to Radiesse® injection are the following:
- Cheeks
- Chin
- Hands
- Jawline
- Marionette lines
- Nasolabial folds
Radiesse® can also be administered in conjunction with other procedures such as a brow lift or ear surgery.
How Is Radiesse® Administered?
The first step will be an assessment of your facial areas to determine how much Radiesse® is needed and where the injection(s) should take place. Next, your skin will be cleaned with an antiseptic cleanser, and you will be asked to lie down on an examining table. Dr. Sood will then inject precisely the right amount of filler into the predetermined area(s). Once he completes the injections, you will be free to leave our office and resume normal activities.
Preparing for Radiesse®
The ideal thing you can do to prepare for a Radiesse® injection is to ensure your skin is clean and healthy. Avoid damaging it by sun exposure, tanning beds, or the use of harsh cleansers or chemical peels. Other than that, avoid wearing makeup or lotion on the day of your appointment, and be sure to remove any facial piercings that are present.
Recovery from Radiesse®
There may be some numbness and tingling present, which should dissipate in an hour or so. If you happen to experience light bruising or swelling, use a cold compress or take over-the-counter medication to help relieve your discomfort.
How Much Does Radiesse® Cost?
Different applications will require a different amount of Radiesse® to be injected. For this reason, the only true way to give you an accurate cost is to perform a consultation. When you visit our office for your consultation, we will discuss your cost, along with the various payment options we have available. Our options include cash, personal checks, major credit cards, and CareCredit® Financing.
Is Radiesse® Right for Me?
For patients in the Cherry Hill, South Jersey, and Greater Philadelphia areas who want immediate results yet would also like a gradual improvement over time, Radiesse® can help meet both of these goals.
What to Expect During Your Radiesse® Consultation
Your personal goals will be discussed to make sure you are a good candidate for this procedure. Dr. Sood will also collect your health history and evaluate it carefully to ensure you have no medical conditions that might result in a reaction to Radiesse®.
